SCALE – The UG Fellows interview

Medical students; Ferguson Natukunda and Abraham Ddungu who are both currently on placement at Addenbrooke’s hosptial, Cambridge as part of the UG-UK SCALE exchange programme.

SCALE is an acronym for: Strengthening Health Workforce Capacity Through Global Learning. SCALE is run by the Uganda-UK Health alliance as part of a larger aim of improving human resource capacity in Uganda healthcare services. The Uganda government team is headed by PS Dr Diana Atwine.

The programme involves three phases:

1. Virtual knowledge sharing between both countries

2. Placement of Uganda doctors in fellowships in the UK

3. Placement of UK doctors in fellowships in Uganda

The first two Ugandan doctors arrived in the UK on the 20th June and are currently on their fellowships in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
